When that tiny baby came screaming into earthly existence, everything changed.
All of heaven, wrapped in pink, brand new flesh.
The Savior had come and in the blink of an eye, salvation for all became possible.
The apple of His Father’s eye, Jesus, laid in a dirty feeding trough, awed over by some of society’s least likely candidates.
God’s entire, invisible nature…materialized.
“He (Jesus) is the radiance of the glory of God
and the exact imprint of his nature…”
Hebrews 1:3
God’s thumbprint.
All of God- packed inside the body of that baby. His nature, His heart, His power, sovereignty and His plan for all man kind, materialized, brought to view….in plain sight.
Now with us, God, Immanuel.
And now we- because of Him- we have Salvation, and with it the mantle to take this God-with-us story to the world. A world that is desperate and broken, tired and hungry, longing for something that doesn’t change with the wind.
We are called to materialize the heart of Jesus, just as He materialized the nature of God.
When our feet hit the floor every morning, we begin another 24 hour opportunity to take from what is invisible and make it plain to those that cross our path.
Those who don’t know God can’t put words to Him, they can’t draw a picture of Him, they have no knowledge of what His nature is like…
until they meet us.
Through us they see, in the flesh, in plain sight, slices of His nature in the way that we talk, the way that we serve, our trust in Him when things are shaky, our love for others, our love for ourselves, the way we spend our money, what we put our trust in, what we spend our time doing…
All chances to materialize the invisible of our Father.
What does our life bring to plain sight? What does our life materialize?
Is our God loving? Can He be trusted? Is He powerful? Is He faithful? Has he called us to something? Does He change? Does He provide? Is He creative? Is He excellent? Is He consistent?
Is He truly with us?
Immanuel, God with us, came onto the scene as living proof of the things that ears had long heard of Him.
God, materialized as Jesus.
Salvation came for us.
We are called to materialize Him.
What does your life prove true about Immanuel?
